G.L.M. EMPLOYEE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mr. Dan Kohut, General Manager - Operations, is pleased to announce the following addition to G.L.M.:
Mr. Daniel Duffy, B.Comm. has joined G.L.M. as our Production Coordinator.
Dan holds an Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary.
He brings with him experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, Inventory Management and Logistics, prior to joining G.L.M. he was the Director of Inventory and Logistics for Remington Tire Distributors.
In his role, Dan will be a key member of the Operations team with primary responsibility for the direction and planning of Project Scheduling, Production Process Development and Improvements, and the coordination of Project Inventory. Working closely with Plant Operations Dan is responsible for developing Production Systems, Schedules and the coordination with Engineering Sales, and Plant Operations across G.L.M.
Mr. Ian Adair, Vice President - Finance, is pleased to announce the following addition to G.L.M.:
Mr. Stephen Rikley, C.M.A. has joined G.L.M. as our Financial Controller effective July 28, 2008.
Stephen holds an accounting certificate from the University of Windsor and obtained his CMA in 1985.
Stephen brings with him experience in both financial and operational management, prior to joining G.L.M. he was the Canadian controller for Finning Canada.
In this role, Stephen will be a key member of the senior management team with primary responsibility for continuing to build upon our existing accounting capabilities. He will be responsible for developing our financial strategies and goals, including the reporting, analysis and accountable for improving upon the financial system, reporting procedures and financial controls required for G.L.M.'s future expansion and growth.
Mr. Owen Gilbert, President and C.O.O. of G.L.M., is pleased to announce the following positional change and employee additions within G.L.M.:
Mr. Art Vandermeer, C.E.T. has joined us as G.L.M.'s Engineering Manager.
Graduate from N.A.I.T. Engineering Design and Drafting, he has over 25 years experience as a project manager, Civil and Industrial Engineering Designer, and CAD drafting technologist. As the Engineering Manager, Art will be responsible for ensuring that drawings and designs are produced in an accurate, timely, and efficient manner. G.L.M. will certainly benefit from his many years of experience.
Mr. Ian Adair, C.A. has been appointed as G.L.M.'s Vice President of Finance effective July 1, 2008.
Ian holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and obtained his C.A. designation in January 1989. Ian has a very strong background and experience in financial management and has held senior positions with Mowbrey Gil LLP and Mackay & Partners. Just prior to joining G.L.M. in January 2007 as our Chief Financial Officer he was the General Manager and Controller for Norwood Foundry.
Mr. Jonathan Yu, B.Sc. has joined G.L.M. as our Drafting Supervisor.
Jonathan has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta (2001) and a diploma from NAIT in Engineering Design and Drafting (2003). He previously worked for G.L.M. as a Drafting Technologist; and most recently for CoSyn Technology/Syncrude as a Piping/Mechanical Designer in Mine Engineering. As Drafting Supervisor, Jonathan will be evaluating, directing, and coordinating the activities of Drafting personnel to ensure that standardization and consistent accuracy exist between individuals and facility groups.
G.L.M. LAUNCHES G.O.A.L.S. PROJECT
G.L.M. officially launched the G.O.A.L.S. Project on March 6, 2008 by presenting an overview of the Project to the employees of G.L.M. at each facility. G.O.A.L.S. is the acronym for the GLM Operating and Administrative Logic System. The largest administrative project undertaken by G.L.M. - G.O.A.L.S. is the corporate ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software that will integrate all locations of G.L.M., including scheduling, procurement, inventory management, Engineering, human resources, work flow, and finance functionality. G.O.A.L.S. will allow for real-time data capture of work processes, customer and engineering change requests/releases. These elements will provide all employees, supervisors, foremen, managers and senior management access to up-to-the-minute information across the Corporation and provide for more responsive and timely decision making. Newsletters will be published at the end of each month providing status updates, question/feedback opportunities, upcoming events, and opportunties for communication.
